Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!!! It feels so special to be a mom. I just love it. My first Mother's Day was so special and fun, I could not have asked for a more wonderful day. The day started off with a trip to Whole Foods with my mom, Lisa (sister), Beck (nephew), and of course myself and Lucas. I fell in love with Whole Foods when my sister lived in LA. It is my sister's favorite place to shop and her enjoyment of Whole Foods has rubbed off on me. Whenever we go we always shop around and then will grab a bite to eat from all the ready made food choices. As always we eat the pizza and then pick a dessert to go with. I recommend visiting the Whole Foods at the district and trying their pizza, it will not disappoint. It was great sharing part of Mother's Day with two great moms.

When I got home I expected to find my husband relaxing since it was Sunday and he was leaving for a business trip early Monday morning. To my surprise when I came home he had two beautifully wrapped presents with two cards on the kitchen table and was in the living room cleaning. When I got closer and entered the living room I noticed there was the new Pier 1 rug that I had been talking about neatly laid out on the wood floors under the coach and coffee table. To give you some background before I went on bed rest I had been talking about replacing our old rug which was wool and would leave dust bunnies everywhere. Well I went on bed rest and when I got off for those three days before Lucas arrived we had visited Pier 1 and I had seen this great rug. This may sound silly but at the time I didn't have the energy to deal with buying the rug and replacing it with the old one so I told Mike that I wanted to keep looking. Well three days later I had Lucas. So for the last three weeks every time I sit on the couch I would complain to Mike how much I dislike the old rug and wish I would have just got the Pier 1 rug when we saw it. So to my excitement there was the Pier 1 rug. My wonderful husband must have been listening and now I would no longer be annoyed with the old rug every time I sit on the couch. What a great husband :)

Well that was not all, there was still two presents wrapped by Mike on the table.
The first held a box of Godiva. I love Godiva, it is so good.

The second box held this gorgeous black Coach bag. I had been telling Mike that I wanted a bag that I could carry cross the body so that my hands would be free to take care of Lucas. He had gone to the Coach store and picked out this incredible bag all by himself. Once again my husband was listening to me :)

Although the presents were so thoughtful and way too generous, the best present I got on Mother's Day was Lucas. I love our family and Mike does such a great job of taking care of us. I can't wait till Father's Day...watch out Mike I am already thinking of ways to make it super special.
